If the battery is showing only 9 volts, it's bad.
I feel like this will only make things worse. I jumped the car again today and removed the cables. With the car running I did a voltage test on the alternator and it was below 14v at a steady decline. I feel like a nimrod. The first tome I did the voltage test on the alternator, it was reading 14+ volts and now it's not. I have now turned my attention to either the alternator being bad or a loose connection somewhere causing it not to put out necessary voltage. Would the battery cause this? I apologize if my confusion going back and forth is causing a headache. It is for me.

ok simple basic things. A battery is only used when starting a car thats all the alternator takes over and is running the voltages needed to do everything. SO HAVING TO JUMP START A CAR EVERY MORNING LEAVES ONE CONCLUSION. THE BATTERY IS WEAK GET A NEW ONE.
