Default 95 Lebaron electrical problem?

i just got this car and was working on it and had to remove the battery. when i was finished and reinstalled the battery, all the park and dash lights flash. the car will try to start but dies quickly. is there a reset switch or something you have to do after you replace a battery? this doesn't make any sense. it ran fine before, i was just working on the transmission solenoid.

The alarm has been triggered. There were instances with these and other cars of the period where the PCM theft was enabled (even if the car wasn't equipped with it) after a long battery disconnect. Unfortunately, there is only one fix for it...a PCM. If it is equipped with theft, turning the key in the doors will disarm it. Try both doors. I think you can get a PCM for those under 150 bucks.

Thank you!!! Now have a direction to proceed. Car has started working again, mysterically. Will initially disable the alarm with the car running via the glove box? Thank you!

Default Turning the key in the door lock was the trick !!!!!

Thank you again!
Replaced battery. Car hazards started going off, would not start, turned over though. Just as you recommended, put key in door and turned it and blinking stopped and she worked!!!!
She seems normal now. Do you still recommend replacing the PCM?
I owe you, beer or coffee!!!

No. If turning the key in the door disarms it, then that's what it is supposed to do, so you apparently have anti theft. There is a switch inside the door that clips on the back of the key cylinder. You should have one on each door. Every time you disconnect the battery and reconnect it, it triggers the alarm. If at any time it does not work in one door, try the other one. If you ever try to reach through an open window and open the door from the inside, that will trigger it too.

My original reply about replacing the PCM, was referring to cars that were NOT equipped with alarm. Sometimes the PCM wakes up from a power down and theft becomes enabled.
