MyGIG RER to REW conversion

- Will it still interface with the US spec onboard computer?

- How do the dealer updates work when the car goes in for scheduled maintence?

- How do I get European map updates after it is converted?

- I always take to a German Chrysler dealership for maintenance; will they be able to use the German software to update?

For anyone living in Europe w/ a US myGig nav system who would like to have the European maps, I highly recommend using Customtronix's services. They converted my system and everything works perfectly. It even fixed my uConnect problems. The only problem I encountered was w/ PayPal, it seems to be a very sensitive system. I suggest setting up an account prior to shipping your head unit to Sweden.

Just google customtronix, that will get you to their web-site. they are out of Sweden.

When a was signed to Germany i bringd my car here and as all know the navigation dont work here ,i went do the local dealer but the only thing they told me was that a most buy a new European Mygig for 2900 Euro WTF a said, so a whent home an googeld all about mygig and found carperformance.se they convert Mygig RER to REW so a sent my unit and got it back about 1 week later and now all things work radio,dvd and the navigation

So if you are bringing your car to Europe you most convert a Mygig to get it to work over here!

Hi everyone,
Refreshes a little this topic, it may be useful to someone.
On the unofficial MyGIG website is shown, how you can convert one yourself MyGIG RER to REW.
After this conversion will be work already the European FM frequencies, and some PAL movies.
To run all DVD PAL movies, you have to change the region in the car from 1 (usa ntsc) to 2 (europe pal) and from NTSC to PAL, using example StarScan (You can changed max 5x).

I tested it on the MyGIG RER in Chrysler Aspen.
