I OWN A SEBRING SEDAN LXI WITH THE 2.7 SAME AS THE STRATUS. ON MY WAY TO WORK IN THE MORNING I WAS AT LIGHT WITH A REGAL AND I WASNT EXPECTING ANYTHING TO HAPPEN BUT HE BOOKED IT AT THE LIGHT. I BLEW BY HIM NOT THINKING MUCH OF IT BUT THEN COMING FAST UP BEHIND ME WAS A SUPERCHARGED COBALT HE BLEW BY ME. I FLOORED THE PEDAL MY CAR CHANGED GEARS QUICKLY AND TO MINE AND THE OTHER DRIVERS SURPRISED I BLEW BY HIM THEN HE CAME BACK SWITCHING GEARS AND NOW HEARING THE SUPERCHAGED WHINE HE CAUGHT UP AND WHERE NECK AND NECK. THEN HE PULSS ON ME WE ARE BOTH ON A MAIN ROAD GOIN AT LEAST 100 THEN HE TURNS ONTO THE HIGHWAY. IT WAS AWESOME RACE DIDENT THINK THE SEBRING HAD IT IN HER.

 

The 2.7 in the seden is the same as the convertibe and has over 200 HP. Aot of people under estimate these cars and they are great sleepers if you want to make some money.

Who exspects a 2.7L to have over 200 HP...

I have a 2.5 in my covertible and I beat a 302 V8, however he was in a truck so it wasent as satifing.

 

According to a test I saw somewhere, they tested the stratus 2 door against a monte carlo and a 5.0L Mustang. It was American Muscle under $30 000.
The Monte Carlo was a slouch in every category, so it was really a bet between the Stratus 2.7L and the Mustang 5.0L.
The Ford had a better 0-60 time and 1/4 mile, but the 2.7 actually had a better 45-75mph acceleration than the 'stang.
The test was with the stratus, but mine's a Sebring sedan. Surprised a lot of people. "No it isn't a Hemi!"

 

So u did a fly-by then cobalt (while you still trying) downshifted and walked you… don’t be fooled thinking that your car is almost as fast as cobalt SS SC, because when you are traveling 10 – 15 mph faster then the other car, the other car need to catch up to that speed (which still growing because u are still accelerating) and then exceed your speed to pass you… I learned it through experience that it is much harder to beat someone when they do a fly-by then from rolling star, both cars doing same speed.
