TPMS trick - aftermarket wheels
I have a 2010 sebring convertible - I found a great deal on used wheels with new tires for $250 total , but they have standard valve stems . the OEM fake chrome wheels had the stock TPMS sensors - which I removed and saved . I put on new rims and TPMS light came on and registered 4 tires at 0 pressure . I can clear it by pushing reset button on dash . No chimes sound and only yellow tire light stays on dash ( not a big deal ) - I heard of putting sensors inside a PVC tube with a valve stem and pressuring to 32psi - but I also heard sensors have to be moving in circles . If this is true , how would a spare TPMS work . I don't want to try and switch valve stems because they may be reaching end of battery life and they may not even fit on new rims .
