PB,

I was considering this option. I have 5 amps I was planning to put on eBay. I could use 1 for this. A adapter like this is worth it's weight.
But I still need the sub box which looks to be a hard-to-find part (at least in my town).

If anyone has a used source please post.

I haven't really looked into the space where the sub is supposed to go but I'm wondering if we could fabricate something to work there? BTW, I did more research on the adapter and came up with this link:

They don't list the Pacifica as a supported vehicle but I think this is because it's not being made anymore but if you read the info you can check your head unit for certain markings to see if it will work. The correct adapter seems to be CHYAA since we have the CAN BUS (Controller Area Network) interface. I will check my stereo for the type it is and hopefully this will work on ours. I also have an amp and some 6.5" component speakers I would love to use. It will take a little work because you have to hook up your amp directly to the battery through the firewall and run new wires to the new speakers but it will be well worth it. Let us know if you find out anything about this also.

I've looked. There is actually a fair amount of space but very oddly shaped. I have made a few sub boxes in the past. And making one for this space would be a challenge. If you were a fiberglass fabricator you would probably have better luck. But a straight box would be tough.
Have you seen what the factory sub/enclosure looks like? It's custom fit to the space, sorta shaped like a stout boomerang. I'm still looking locally to see if I can find a salvage. I don't know why the Intermezzo system was such a rarity on the Pacs.

What about the adapter that was posted earlier

I haven't seen the enclosure with the cover off. With a little more research I found out that with the adapter you can only add 4 channels so if you want to use two amps (4 speakers plus a sub) you will have to parallel the sub amp off of two of the channels from the other amp. This is just speculation on my part, if you know of a better way let me know. The second adapter I mentioned is for CAN BUS interface which seems to be what the Pacificas have in them. If you check the last link I posted and click on "face of the radio" in the description it gives you an example of what to look for to be sure it will work with our stereo. You need to look for one of these codes: "REF, REC, RAQ, RAK" in the location that they show you. As far as the enclosure goes I'm just looking to add an 8" sub, would that fit with let's say a .8 enclosure? They do make those thin enclosures which are for pickups, maybe that would fit. Otherwise, trying to find the enclosure in a junk yard seems to be the only way because I heard that a new enclosure from Chrysler is big $. Keep posting and let me know if you find out anything new and I will do the same.

I've been looking at the JBL Grand Touring Series GTO804. It's designed to work in a very small sealed enclosure and has gotten good reviews from users who bought. As a side note JBL and Infinity are affiliated with each other.

Read that the OEM sub is upwards of $270. I think I can put something together that will work as well for quite a bit less.
Local availability of a salvage sub for me is slim to none.

I just did a search for that JBL sub and you can get it for under $70. That's a plus!

UPDATE! I emailed the Tech department at Peripheral and he gave me a different adapter number for the Pacifica. SVEN4 will be the one we need. He said it will need to be installed to the outputs of our 200 watt amp. This is also cheaper than the others!

He also supplied the info below regarding how to install.

You will hook the SVEN4 up to the outputs of the factory amp located on the passenger rear cargo floor. Here is a wiring diagram of your vehicle:

Left Front Mid + Grey/violet Pin 18

I think I am going for the JBL in a custom box with external amp. I just can't seem to find the salvage parts at a price I willing to part with.

I did have a chance to look at the opening for the sub and it's kind of small and the wheel well causes a bit of a problem but I did find this closeout 8" sub box which might fit in the opening. Even if you have to cut corner off and patch it to fit the space it should suffice.

Post if you are able to get it to fit. looks a tad on the large size. Make sure the Fosgate is designed to work in a box that size.
Thats why I was looking at the JBL, it's designed to work in a box as small as .3 cu. ft..
