1999 Chrsyler LHS AC not cold
 
The system operates but the air is not cold.Both in Auto and Manual mode.Works fine for heater mode.Checked on the freon (gas) pressure.Good.AC compressor operates whenever AC is turn on but noticed that both the high and low gas manifold that runs out of the AC compressor are warm.Had the fuse check (which is unlikely).It was good.Had the temperature sensor vent (on the AC control panel just below the knob) cleaned with electrical cleaners.Still unable to get cold air.

Does anyone encounter similar problems or is there else where that can be troubleshoot?

Suction line on the compressor should be cold. Bet you are low on refrigerant. Evap core common leak on these cars as they age.

what are the high and low side pressures? numbers.

Oh!In actual fact the compressor clutch did not engage when AC is turn on.I missed it:))
Next question,can only the clutch be replace or the whole compressor has to replace?
i am thinking of doing myself. Any advise or guide?Thank you....

iv never seen a tool nore a clutch kit for the LHS compressors

i know that the clutch can be replaced separately as there is a bolt that secures the pulley(clutch) to the compressor.Just not sure if the entire compressor has to be remove in order to reach the pulley(clutch).Has any one removed one before?

Did a check on the fuse boxes in the engine compartment and found that the fuse which is for the Radiator high fan was burnt/blown.Had it swopped and i turned the engine on and tried and turn on the AC.The AC worked perfect and had cold air and noticed that the one of radiator fan started to turn continuously !!! But after running the AC for about 5 mins it was not cold again but had hot air and the radiator fan also had stopped. Took a look at the same fuse that had burnt earlier and found out it had burnt/blown out again!!!

So what could have caused the fuse to overload and burnt??

Both fans need to work properly. Both on Low or both on high depending on conditions. Check that the other fan motor is not seized.
