2000 300M headlights and turn signals

Is it just me learning the car, or are the headlight bulbs and front turn signal bulbs a pain to replace? The left front turn signal housing is cracked, so I was going to replace it along with the burnt out bulb. Only did the bulb, and that seemed to be a major pain! Thought to try and go through the top to get to it, and the headlight even seems tough to get out to just change headlight bulbs!!

Turn signal bulbs easy access by removing the fog light. (square drive screw head) housing is another story. Best bet is to remove the front bumper cover/facia to do headlight bulbs and signal housings..
