2000 Concorde LXi - Rear doors won't unlock
I have another issue...
My rear electric doors will lock when pressing the auto lock button but make a really loud sound. However, when I hit the automatic unlock button on the drivers side door or on my keychain the rear door locks make the same really loud noise but will not unlock, so I am having to reach around and manually unlock the doors. The manual lock on the door looks like it is trying to go up when i hit the automatic unlock, but it does not go up all the way unlocking the doors. What would cause this to happen, and how do i fix this? Thanks |
the door lock actuators will need to be replaced
|
oh ok, thanks.
Looks like im hitting up the salvage yard this weekend. Would you happen to have, or know where i can find, some detailed instructions on removing/replacing the actuators? |
Common failure on "early year" LH cars. Find ones from a 01 or newer at a yard. Actuator is part of the latch assembly. Door Panel off, Remove the latch assembly. (From the FSM)
LATCH REMOVAL (1) Close door glass. (2) Remove door trim panel.(Refer to 23 - BODY/ DOORS - REAR/TRIM PANEL - REMOVAL) (3) Remove rear glass channel. (4) Disconnect lock button link from door latch. (5) Disconnect outside door handle link from door latch. (6) Remove screws attaching door latch to door end frame (Fig. 6). (7) Remove latch from door. |
