2000 LHS key won't turn
I have a 2000 LHS that has been giving me intermittent ignition problems the last 5 months. When I put the key in the ignition it sometimes won't turn. The last week it has gotten really bad. I have tried the trick with the cable near the shifter, but it hasn't helped. The last few days, I've had to take the key out and reinsert it about a hundred times to get to the point that it will let me turn the key. I have found that once I get the key to turn, I can leave it in the ignition and it will work indefinitely over several days and several trips, but I can't always leave it in the ignition for security reasons. I think the likely issue is the chip in the key, but before I pay to get a new key programmed I'd like to see if there is some way to definitely diagnose if the problem is the key, the sensor, or something else. Anybody have any suggestions for me, or should I just cough up the dough to get a new key programmed? I only have the one key that I use now which works intermittently.

Easy fix. Tumbler kit available from any auto parts store for under $50. Good directions and even You tube videos make it an easy job
