2001 Concorde CPS problems

Help, car will start with CPS unplugged and drives ok till you need to pass or accel, then it falls on its face. Get PO340 code, found CPS unplugged (guess it was done by prior owner to sucker me into buying). Plugged in CPS, car will not start, unplug and it starts (takes a bit of pumping gas peddle). After starting you can go anywhere just do not try to pass or cross a busy street! Bought a new CPS and installed. Car will not start with new one, unplug and it will start (after starting you can plug in and car will continue to run, but will not start again if you turn off motor). Please HELP!! Have no money to buy another car, spent it all on this one.

so what can I do to fix problem? I'm retired so I have a limited income, but as a young man I fixed my own car or truck, when I was in prime always drove a new one, so lost touch on fixing them. still have old tools and desire!

I am afraid its gonna take more then what U have at this time U will need to get a service manual and then read the procedure on how to replacing the timing chain guides and the tone wheel

Guess I will need the manual for the LH? as this one has the small V-6. (CPS is on driverside). Could voltage be a problem ~ have 9.323 Vdc, 0.0171 Vdc & 5.322 Vdc, Ohms across was 0.0177, 4.011, 0.724. Checked wires all the way back to where they cross manifold all look fine, no pinches or anything.
Thanks for hanging with me - once I find items needed guess I'll take a crack at fixing this car.

Somewhere around 2003, Chrysler went to a different engine control computer, which changed all the "Permanent Magnet Pickup" devices on the engine...The new and Old systems are not interchangeable. There is a "Tonewheel " on the flywheel/Flexplate, and there is a tonewheel on the camshaft. The "WINDOWS" on the tonewheels DO NOT correspond with the other system.

We chrysler Technicians see this ALL THE TIME, and it is usually more heartache than Satisfaction, unless you have a "DONOR" car for the necessary parts , and the Year and system can Be VERIFIED. The junkyard tosses the motors in a pile, and either "DONT KNOW" or DONT CARE" what they came from.
Easiest way to figure it out....Look at your PCM (COMPUTER)...2 Plugs is Called an SBEC, 4 Plugs is called an NGC....2001 is an SBEC...so your donor parts MUST be from a 2 Plug PCM.....
