93 Concorde shifts out of gear??

I drive a 93 Concorde and it's my first car. It was originally my grandfather's and he gave it to me. As far as I know, the only thing he had done was replaced the transmission and had the air conditioner accessory belt taken off and the compressor is locked up. 2 months ago it started to shift out of gear while I was driving without warning and I can't do anything but wait until it shifts itself back into gear.

In short: has anyone else had a shifting problem? if so what was it? do i need to replace my entire transmission or just fix what I have?

Help

I had the same problem with my old car. I was driving one day and it kept shifting by itself, then the check engine light came on and it wouldn't shift at all. I had it hooked up to a computer. They told me my transmission was stuck in third gear. The next day, everything worked just fine. It worked fine for a few more months, then when I would be driving down the highway it would shift from fourth to third gear for a while then go back to fourth. It eventually wouldn't come out of third gear after about four more months. I would check and make sure the transmisison fluid was full.
