94 New Yorker - Power Steering system overheating

Replaced the variable effort rack and pinion reusing the old soliniod valve. Then the power steering fluid was overheating so changed out the power steering pump. Power steering system is still overheating after 10 minutes of driving; is there a test to see if the valve is the problem or does anyone know what the cause could be?

What are the symptoms of the power steering overheating? Do you lose power steering? Is it spewing fluid out? Is it properly full of the correct fluid? (and not overfilled)
