99 lhs 3.5l

I currently own a 99 LHS that doesn't crank up while the Cam Sensor is connected. The engine will rotate but it will not fire up. It will fire up once the sensor connector is removed but the car will run horribly. I have check checked all wiring & all seems well. I also have replaced the sensor but still have the same results. I have managed miraculously to get the car to fire up with the sensor connected a couple of times one day a few weeks ago, but haven't been able to since. I have also replaced the crank sensor, & timing belt since the car started doing this. I don't receive any codes (P0340) until I remove the connector to start the vehicle. I am all out of ideas, and not trying to spend any more money until proper diagnosis is achieved. I am new to this site & I love my car very much, all help will be greatly appreciated.

I have owned the car for about 8 months. The vehicle does have high mileage but I believe it to be the original motor & transmission.
