You are right that perhaps no one can give answer for sure,
but I wrote some info about the problem and got few tips what can cause it.

About the code I wrote that it is a problem to read because not all OBD II readers can communicate with my car. I don't now why.
I plan to buy a OBD II interface for my laptop but I want to be sure it will not have the same incompatibility problem.

You MOST CERTAINLY WILL HAVE COMPATIBILITY PROBLEMS........

You answered your own question......

OBDII is primarily Emissions control.....ABS is not moitored for emission standards... therefore OBDII scan tool does nothing for ABS....You will need either a Chrysler dealership scan tool, or ..."Snap on " / "Genesis" tool with the "PROPER" software installed.

The compatibility problem was a statement, not a question.
An OBD II reader was used to communicate with the car computer.

And PCM will tell you NOTHING about the state of your antilock problems. OBDII equipment WAS NOT designed to handle "Accessories" or "NON-EMISSION" related components.....

If you have a check engine light on, or a driveability issue, then yes...By all means, Get the software for your laptop....But at the moment, Your concern is ABS, which....HAS NOT, ISNT, and probably WILL NEVER BE compatible with OBDII.

Many obd readers can handle ABS codes and more, eg. transmission, air-bag.
Yes there are compatibility problems, -I also wrote this- probably because these are not in the obd standard, but I'm sure they will be sooner or later.

Almost forgot to mention: these are already quasi standard.
