P1493 BATTERY TEMP SENSOR (BTS) VOLTAGE TOO LOW (OBD II)
more then likely the AMBIENT TEMP SENSOR is bad or damaged wire. Does anyone have any idea where the ambient temp sensor is located? Please anything at this point would help. We have changed the battery, cable ends, all the fuses and sensors in the panel box, altenator, fiseable link, and pcm and still the alt light and check engine light pop on and it pops code P1493 on us. |
Also we are putting out 16.9 volts from the alt and battery. So whats could be causeing that to happen?

We fixed it!!!

It was the Ambient sensor that was bad and if you look thru your grill its located somewhere right in the grill area our was bottom right corner of grill and its an easy enough fix. Drives you crazy but easy fix. If it goes out it will mess up your chargeing and everything will register wrong on your car its weird. Its a small plug looking device. the temp reader inside the car was registering 175* outside so if yours starts to read funny thats the problem.

If you check out this web page it shows what the sensor looks like.

Thanks,I'll keep that in mind if it comes up.I'm planning on keeping this car for at least 5 more years, its still like new with low km.

We plan on keeping ours to. We just rebuilt the motor in it, so the motor has on it now 621 miles and runs perfect and the body has 136,000 on it and in exellent condition. We are hoping it last us at least 10 years or more.
