Cruise control, wobble, vibration

I drive a 2002 Chrysler 300m with just over 150k miles- the other day while on the freeway I turned on cruise control and hit the "set" button going about 65mph. Almost immediately I felt a very strong wobble, almost as if the wheel had come loose. I pulled over and all the lug nuts were tight. I got back on the freeway and twice I felt the same strong vibration as soon as I engaged the cruise control. Could it possibly be something related to the transmission? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Boss , your gonna have to elaborate a bit more on this 'wobble' you speak of. where do you feel it? the seat , the steering wheel? is there any noise involved with the wobble? and this wobble only occured when you used the cruise control? however you can drive at 65 mph with no prob if you dont use cruise?

sounds like inner tie rod end bushing

@ Scooby- well, as I mentioned in my post, it really felt like the wheel was coming off the axle...it was a progressive 'wobble', I mean, it definitely felt like something was going to break if I didn't shut it off, but yes as soon as I turned off the cruise control it drove fine for the next 5 miles or so to my house. My brother said he thought it was coming from the front passenger wheel, I felt like it was the front driver. I think it's safe to assume that whatever it is, it's something in the front end of the car. As far as noise goes, I'm not sure there was any noise per se...it almost felt like when you drive over a really bad spot in the road, but it was getting worse and worse. Really strange, I know...

@Chrysler Tech- I'll look into that. Is that an expensive fix?
