door lock problem on 300M
 

does anyone know how the auto door locks work on the 300M. when we use the key phob the driver door works some time and some time it does not. all other doors work ok. it's just the drivers door. the drivers door works with the key all the time.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean. Using the keys or using a button to automatically open the doors?

your problem is most likely the actautor which is serviced as part of the door latch part number 4574151ae thats for a 1999 300m the part costs $99.45 or it should per dcx
the problem is the power actuator is not working properly

I just bought my 300 M recently, its a 99 also, the door lock mechanism is fine, the truck lock button on the entry device worked the first couple of days and then it quit on me. Have to use the key to open my trunk now.

Does anybody know of a place where you can get these actuators cheaper than from the dealer? I've bought actuators for other vehicles on the web and can usually get them for $20-$30 vs. what the dealer wants to charge. I can find the actuator/latch for just about any other vehicle but not the 99 300M. Last latch I bought from the dealer cost me $136!!! There's nothing special about this actuator that warrants the price nor the scarcity.

I picked one up for my gf's car at a junk yard (viking auto, mn) and it was just 34 bucks. they had to pull it, but they can be kinda scarce. so check your local junk yards if you dont mind a used one. oh and she also has a 99 M

I have a 2000 300m. The trunk lock doesn't work from button either. Where is the actuator for this?
