Default engine swap

My wife has a 01 300m that the engine got hot. It still cranks and runs but after a few minutes it starts to rev up and down then dies . when it is reved up some it has a hard rattle almost knock in it now . i believe it needs a new engine . i have found a 07 3.5 with around 5000 miles on it that i can get very cheap .Will it work in it

NOPE totally different engine configuration, only thing the same is the 3.5 liter displacement.
99-01 "LH" engine plug and play drop in. 02-04 can do but need swap flywheel, cam gear, engine harness and more.

Engine Identification numbers are on the rear of the left bank block, just below the head deck. (drivers side)
The row of numbers that has a "T" in it is where to look, the first digit is the last number of the block year, followed by the "T", which is the casting plant, Trenton.
Next 5 digits tell if it is 3.2 or 3.5 and car it is/was in, next 4 are the month day of build. last 5 are the engine serial number.
Engine serial number usually does NOT match the VIN but at least you can tell year and date built, should be close to body date code on drivers door

Could be......the number provided is incomplete yet the first digit indicates 2000 (or 2010)
