HEATED SEAT

Yesterday morning my driver's heated seat was having issues...when turned "on" to HIGH it would only stay on for about 15-20 secnds then shut off...when turned "on" to LOW it worked just fine.

Today, there were no issues at all....and I never had a probem before in years past.

In the past I had noticed that the switch was sticking, possibly from years of soda, coffee, etc being spilled..and lets face it, the car is 9 years old.

Anyway...any thoughts on the cause? Bad switch? BCM issue? Relay? Me being over-tired?

OK...it's not the switch...I swapped driver/passenger switches...same problem.

RE: HEATED SEAT

I had what appears to be the same problem on my 07 Aspen. Anytime the drivers seat was on high, both seats would turn off within 30 seconds. Drivers seat on low, no problem. Passenger seat on low or high, no problem. Diagnostic code said high resistance in drivers seat heater. Dealer first replaced the element, which appeared tohavebeenoverheated, but did not fix the issue. The dealer then replaced the control module - problem fixed. My mechanic said that there were not any TSB's on the problem, which is why they first replaced the element.
