steps to replace rear hub

my rear passenger hub is squeeking and needs to be replaced.

my repair manual is in a storage unit with the majority of my stuff (homeless living in a motel looking for a place to rent)

i am looking for the steps needed to replace the rear hub.
i'm guessing there is a large nut on the axle keeping the hub.. the rear brake rotor simply slides on/over the wheel studs?
i'm thinking about the parking brake requirements.. then any other details i cant imagine.

i'd like to replace the hub in the motel parking lot.. hehe
i just dont want to take the thing apart and realize i dont have everything i need to complete the job.

i would like to hope that the hub is simply slid onto the axle and held on with a single nut.
but if there is more to it.. please please tell me now.

You'll get a better response if you tell us what kind of car we're talking about here, but you are correct as to one style of rear hub. There is another kind that bolts on from the back side. Try going to chryslerparts.net and downloading a parts catalogue for your car, whatever it is, and you can probably tell from the exploded drawings how yours goes together.

There's a spindle with a hub nut holding the bearing in place, as you can see from a picture available at chryslerparts.net.

a squeeking hub does not mean you need to replace it. save your money and put the cash toward a life.
