''error occurred". oem ipod usb connect
It is my understanding that the late version iPod Touch devices from Apple are supposed to function with the OE USB connection. I get a "Reading" message for a short while and eventually an "Error Occurred" message.
Only once or twice have I actually been able to force the units to function together. I'm new, so if this has been addressed, please excuse me. If anyone knows the answer, thanks. 2011 200 LTD. |
how are u trying to connect the ipod to the radio?
|
The RBZ unit includes a remote USB connection low in the console of the vehicle for
iPods, memory sticks, etc. In the case of the iPod it should open the full-blown congtrol menu on the screen of the uinit. Instead, I get the 2 messages I mentioned. If I try and try and TRY, I may get a connection once out of 10 times. Don't know if it is a radio or iPod issue. As suggested in the owners manual, I made sure that the touch has been updated to ther latest software version. I have a non-touch iPod I think I"ll try later today, just to start to eliminate possibilities. |
no sir the USB port is only for a memory stick the IPOD integration needs the IPOD adapter that is pluged into the back of the radio.

Very sorry, but the 2011 owners manual states otherwise. The low mountyed usb is provided for the connection of the iPod, it then goes into detail of connection and opersation.

When the crazy thing works, the iPod menus and controls come up on the RBZ which is apparently installed with the iPod adapter you mentioned which the usb in the low console is a component of, much as the older aftermarket kit had us mount in the console glove box. Oh, and excuse the spelling.

Thank you both. I think, since it seems to function with a non-touch iPod, I'll grab up another of those for vehicle use only and call it macaroni. I need to go to the dealership to pick up the sunglasses I left in the overhead of my trade (dummy) so
I'll just run the issue by them and see what they say. Thanks again Tech and Tonic. 2011 200 LTD |
