00 JXi Intermittent Shudder at any speed
 

Hey folks,

The shudder I get in my 2000 JXi can arrive at any speed, starts small and builds to undrivable. Other symptoms include what apears to be curb rash on both tires. Not as tall as curb rash, these swirl marks extend about an inch over the shoulder of the tire. Looks as though it was tossed around so much it was staking over the sidewalls. The only way to stop the shudder is come to a complete stop.

I know how cowl shake, out of round tires, and out of balance round feel. This is much worse, shaking the entire car. The first time it happend, I thought that several lug nuts must be missing and a wheel falling off. All the lugs were torqued fine.

The mechanic had it on the lift today, but everything appears to be ok. There is nothing obviously broken, bent, or failing.

Any thoughts? Help me save this car! I like it, but I don't keep cars with unknown issued like this.
