Default '01 2.7 Limited...Codes 0406 & 1289

0406: EGR Position Sensor Volts Too High. EGR position sensor input above the acceptable voltage range.

1289: Manifold Tune Valve Solenoid Circuit An open or shorted condition detected in the manifold tuning valve solenoid control circuit.

Do these 2 codes coincide with each other?

Is my EGR valve bad?

Where is the valve located?

I know that this is not the original engine in the car. I was told this was a rebuilt crate motor. The codes were cleared twice, and keep coming back with the same 2 as mentioned above. I have read online that some engines have an EGR and some don't. There are no unplugged connectors from what I can see.

Thank you in advance for your time and answers.

Yes and No....They could be related to each other...But doubtful...

Chrysler EGR valves are ...In a Word...ATROCIOUS..... It is not uncommon for an EGR solenoid to crap out... MTV....Same deal.....

MTV is now replaced with the upper intake plenum......and as for egr...Look for the metal tube going into the upper plenum...and follow the tube down towards the manifold....Egr willl meet up with the left and right side tubes.

TY for the reply Djinn...Am I correct that I have to remove the plenum/intake to get to the EGR valve?

Is there a wiring diagram for the EGR set up?

Thanks Again!!!
