'01 Sebring - 2.7L DOHC
 

Sebring has been stalling/sputters for a second while driving occasionally and also sometimes has hard time starting(engine cranking over more than usual), which turns on the 'Check Engine Light'. After two or three trips the 'C.E.L' goes out but will come back again. Also when the 'C.E.L' is on, I cannot get the RPM to go above 3000(the car sputters and jerks).

I retrieved codes from turning on/off the key 3 times:

P 0340
P 0172

It also displayed P 1684, but only once and on the first time I did the code retrieval.

Any suggestions?

have u done any research on what the 340 code means?
