Exclamation No power to radio

I have a 99 Chrysler Sebring Convertible Limited. The radio was stolen from the car so I went out and bought a kenwood unit and wired everything. It will not power on at all but the harness is getting power. Same with the radio harness. All fuses are good, also checked fuse for the unit and it's good as well.. I've had people check over it just to be sure I didn't miss anything and they are about as clueless as I am. Not the first time hooking one of these up!

Did you hook up a GROUND connection from radio chassis to the body? Not your first time and others looking at it, and reporting power thru harness and at radio..leaves ground or bad radio. and usually there is 2 power feeds to most radios now, 1 for main power and one foe "keep alive memory" power. Are you sure you are testing correct power line for main for possible fuse trouble or switched main power?

I tried both grounding methods, one that connects to the stock ground and then attempted to ground it out separately as instructed by someone else who has a Sebring and none worked.I mean I would understand 1 unit being defective, but I now have another one which still gets no power.

Could it be that I wasn't getting a good connection when attempting to ground it? Do you know where the stock ground is?

Judging by the amount of rust I seen earlier behind the dash, It's likely the ground for the radio is corroded.

Well track down the ground wire mounting point and relocate it to an unrusted spot.

I am also facing extreme problem to do turn on radio, this happened right after a new battery was installed in the car. The mechanic said something about I had to re-program it. Is this true?

If anyone have any more solution please advice.

If yours is a European model, it might require a code to get the radio to work. You will have to go to the dealer for that. It's an anti-theft provision.

If you're referring to the member of post #6, he is listed as being in the USA,. Nice thought about the EU security system though!

Outside info here. It was stolen. Did they cut the wires to get the radio out? If they did chances are they blew fuses.
