02 sebring auto transmission issues 2.7 engine

Hi folks, am new at this and hoping for some info to my problem. Had a transmission service done with kit by Mr Lube and now the transmission downshifts very abruptly. Have an 02 sebring with auto trans and 2.7 engine with 85000 kms. The fluid was changed by Mr Lube three months ago without any broblems to the shifting whatsoever. Any feedback of any kind would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Moe, disconnected battery terminals in engine compartment for several minutes as advised and reconnected. Transmission fluid is fully topped up. Took the car for a spin and unfortunately no change to the abrupt downshift.
Thanks for your time.
Cheers,
Ron

might have to take it back for what they call a quick learn on the trans.is the check engine light on?

Hi Moe, no, the check engine light is not on! Shall I take it back to the dealer for a trans quick learn? What does the procedure entail?
Am I looking at big bucks? Am not so sure I trust the Chrysler dealer I take the car to in light that they always find something to fix, find them very pushy!
Cheers,
Ron

alot of dealers are like that ron. it involves using the scan tool (drb) to reset the trans, called quick learn.takes like 10 mins.one good trick is to tell the dealer your thinking about trading the car next week.not sure what make your looking for.works every time.!!! moe

Thanks Moe, you've been a huge help. I'll try that next week with the dealer and see how it 'll pan out. I'll also keep you posted on the end result of the trans quick learn.
Cheers,
Ron

Hi Moe, took the sebring to the dealer for a quick learn, and yes, the tranny now downshifts flawlessly! Thanks again for your help in this. Dealer charged me $100 for the procedure. Does this mean another quicklearn when the next tranny flush and filter change is performed? Why does this happen?
Thanks,
Ron
