02 sedan wasn't charging

Hey All

I got an 02 Sedan that stopped charging. Thanks to some of you, I recieved some wiring diagrams that showed a Fusible link between the battery and the alternator, located at/near the starter ( green wire).
I had between 32 to 45 volts at the alternator, but nothing to the battery.

I later found out that the Powertrain computer "varies" the amount of voltage produced. So, I tried a wire from the alternator to the positive boost post, and "presto", it started charging around 14.35 volts.

I used a CORRECT SIZED 8 gauge wire for the fix ( No Smaller). The proper fix would be to replace the harness, but, the starter is burried behind the front engine mount ( almost can't see it!).

Hopefully this may be of some use to some else with a similar problem.

If you can find the fusible link, you should be able to replace it. They used to sell them in auto parts stores. You cut out the old one and solder in the new one right in the wire. It's not hard to do assuming you have some soldering exoerience.

Just wrap it back up with electrical tape when you're done.
