I have a 2000 Sebring JXi ,,CHECK to see if you have spark,I had the same problem I changed the spark plugs, timing belt and water pump and it didn't start,so if you dont have spark it very well maybe your Distributor or a relay

Which relays to check and how will I know if its bad theres numbers on to the cover so I dont know which is which

2.4 does not have a distributor only the 2.5
Look to see if the belt has come off the cams are turning who did the work?

The belt still tight and turning a mechanic friend did the belt and tensioner and I had a shop do the waterpump

The belt might be turning but one of the CAMs may not be. If someone forgot to tighten one or both of the cam sprocket bolts, it could have sheared off a pin in one of the camshafts. Seen it done many times. Whoever did the water pump would have had to take it off to get the rear cover off to get to the water pump. No promises, just going by history and logic here.

That's the valve cover seals over the spark plug bores. Very common and easy to do.
