2000 Sebring Starts Fine Cold, Not So Much After Driving
I have a 2000 Sebring Jxi / 6cyl convertible. Starts fine cold. Starts fine very hot (i.e. drive awhile, turn off and on again immediately). The problem is when, after driving, the car sits for a couple of hours. I have to turn the ignition, let the starter work, stop, then try again. On the 2nd try, it starts. Need a part suggestion to take to the mechanic. Many thanks in advance.

Take it to a real tech that has the tools and know how on this issue. Im sorry to say but some tests would need to be performed ie fuel pressure test or spark test or battery issue ne number of things. |
yeah good suggestion every repair is thousands of bucks to a guy that's a parts changer that cant correctly figure out whats wrong.

in your pages and pages of stuff u read how many of the other people sainf the distributor assembly was the issue? like 9 of 10 its the most common thing to go wrong int eh 2.5 when it does not start Not saying your that 1% which it looks like U are so now u need to see what u are missing spark or fuel and the trace it back from there electrical or mechanical or what this is all experience and training any good tech will have. I would prob let some one look at it over your DIY head.

That vehicle will leave you in Complete Despair. DO NOT THROW ANY MONEY AT IT, AT ALL! Can not agree with this guy, My 2002 sebring 2.7 LXi is going strong at 170,000. I worry about the day that I will have to get rid of it when it reaches its end of useful life. The trick to the 2.7L and Sebring is just to keep it properly maintained like any other car requires. I admit the water pump was a bit of a challenge, but other than that I really like the car. I have never been stranded in the 170,000 miles of driving. Can TurboTaxMan say the same! As Chrylser tech so elegantly put it "My car runs just fine!" |
