2001 Sebr Convt: New rear caliper, new pads, still brake overheat. Help?
I have a 2001 Sebring Convertible Limited. Its a fine car. The only issue I've had with it is that the passenger side rear brake doesn't want to release on its own sometimes. You can pry on it with a screwdriver through the wheel and easily it compresses, but if you drive a long way, you will stop and the brake will be smoking.
The other side is ok. I replaced the caliper (have done so on many vehicles, so I know its right). The results are the same. Smoking brakes. Does anyone know of a common issue with this problem, or has any suggestion where I search next? I'm going to look for a pinched line, but honestly i'm not too hopeful for this resolution! Thanks guys! |
trash in the line also the runner part may come apart on the inside

Had the same problem on my 1995 minivan. Turned out to be a bad brake hose.
Another possibility. If yours does not have ABS, then it might be a problem with the proportioning valve. As Tech says, "trash in the lines" can cause problems there. |
