2001 sebring saying no bus and will not start has died twice and have been able to restart after cycling key a bunch but this time I don't thank it is going to restart. I have a OTC scan tool and can't comunicate with engine computor but does seem to work with everything else. any Ideas besides bad pcm

 

SCI wires U said u can talk to everything else u arnt using a 99 buck scan tool are u? See if the pcm has power and ground. Unplug the pcm and see if u get teh bus back up if it does then yeah bad pcm.

 

OTC genisys scanner. Other problem is after a few days the battery goes dead. If you charge it goes back down after a2 or 3 days. Do you think the pcm is draining the battery. What wires shouldI check for power and ground. If I put in a salage yard pcm will the anti-theftand vin have to be programed at dealer? thanks fro the answers.

 

dont ever put junk yard computer in ne more they will mess up more then u think. If u do have a drain put an amp meter on the batt and see what kinda amps are being pulled factory max is 35ma. SO u can talk to other computers like airbag and abs and bcm right?

 

yes you can talk to abs and airbag also i think body control

 

ok check the sci wires that are from the Datalink connector to the pcm see if thoes commucation lines are good if so then u have a bad pcm. If u put a junk yarn PCM in it it had skim or vtss then all the other computer will know that and then on expect that to be there and u will have a no start and well u get to replace ooo 3 or 4 different computers at once.

 

I towed the car to chrysler to a friend that is a service advisor and said that the computers have I believe a 8/80 warrenty. The replaced the pcm just like I thought and car ran fine for about have a day 5 to 10 starts and stops. Now is doing the same thing again. This car also had a pcm put in it in march of 2006 according to dodge and the sticker on the side. What could cause the pcm to fail any ideas. thanks MIKE

 

not really do u have aftermarket stuff tied into the car some how? HUmm some times something like a cam or crank sensor will nuke the computers seen that a few times.
