What other Chrysler engines can I drop rite in her without alot of rework?

same one that came out of it and same computer style

It depends on what you call a lot of work. If you are already taking out the motor isn't that a lot of work? I have used motors from as early as a 2008 - it is a long block 2.7L motor any way you look at it. The most I've had to change out are the oil pan, timing chain cover, knock sensor, cam sprocket reluctor, flywheel, exhaust manifolds, intake plenum, and fuel injectors. Not that big a deal. :0 Great college car for the kids...

Yeah its a lot of work but I guess what I should have asked...does a 2000, 2001, 2003 or 2004 2.7L V6 fit in my 2002 Sebring

They didn't build the 2.7L engine until the 2001 model year. Somewhere during the 2004 (I think it was) model year, there were significant changes including a different computer.
Look for one close to your build date having the same computer. I am assuming yours is a 2.7 and not a 2.4.

Ic very...my engine is shot so I was thinking of maybe buying a rebuilt 2.7 for around $2700 vs a reman..

Either way, it seems like a lot of money to throw at a 12-year-old car. It's your call, but you might be better off looking for a good used something else.

Yeah I hear you scooter...but I re did the tranny and all suspension within the last 18 months plus its spotless inside...

That is a great starting point for a car that will provide another 100K miles of service. I look for a 100K mile car with a blown motor, new tires, no accidents and hopefully a suspension system that has been replaced. I didn't notice the mileage on your vehicle. I also try to look for an '04 or newer model. There are lots of these vehicles out there so don't over value the donor vehicle. The last car (100K miles) and engine (20K miles from a crashed 08 Avenger) totaled $1500. It will provide college transportation and last six years with no "bumper car" incidents :O Good luck. P.S. The kids get the newest rebuild. I get their post-college Sebring with 210K miles and I expect to get another 50K miles minimum. Take care of the 2.7L motor and it will last a long time. Use synthetic oil in an aluminum block - my results have been good.
