2002 lxi aftermarket radio with factory amp
ok im struggling to get information here..
maybe someone here could provide assistance.. and always appreciated!!!! :) so i have a 2002 sebring lxi 4 door with the 120 watt factory amp under the passenger seat i want to hook up a new radio "kenwood" and still use the amp under the seat.. i bought a regular wire harness from walmart and the radio turns on and plays sound but the difference in power is verrrry noticable the factory radio had wayyyyyy more clean bass before so now i need to know is there some special adapter i need to get in order to get the radio to work with the factory amp? or some crazy trick i need to do! im down to try it all.. thanks again for all the help |
I would answer your question but I don't know the schematics... Is there any subwoofer installed after the amp ? Might be that woofer has its own input and aftermarket radio gives only line out for left and right speakers, but no separate channel for woofer. If everything is OK with wiring and there is no subwoofer then check the speaker phasing. Might be that phases of left and right speakers are opposite and they silences each other and that is very noticeable in low frequencies.
