2002 Sebring Conv no spark on 4 cylinders

2002 Conv. 2.7 Automatic. Did an engine swap and only have spark on #2&3. Battery good, Cam Sensor is new, plugs and coils are good, grounds are good, no breaks in harness. The new motor was an EGR motor so I swapped the intakes and the harness. Could it be crank sensor? I'll take any help you have to offer.

Thank you

Al

Hey Kevin....Doesnt it make you feel Old when that is the first thing that comes to mind......???:D

Do you still have the original engine??.....

There are differences in The tone ring on the flywheel, that make some years incompatible with others....

What model did the "NEW" motor come from, and what year?

The more you can tell us the easier it will be to work out a solution, but for now, UNPLUG THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR..and see if the car starts.

The "new" motor is out of a 2001, no it didnt come with the computer. unplugging the cam sensor kills all spark

yeah only see this what ones a month what does the computer look like on your car is it 2 plugs or 4 plugs?

albentley Apr 15, 2011 11:01 AM

It has two big plugs

well assuming that the engine is infact out of a 02 then that one will work.

I would say your issue lies with the harness u swapped over and intake all that good stuff U changed what was in there originally so something is not teh same.

albentley Apr 15, 2011 05:29 PM

Crank position sensor cured it - I had already swapped the harness and was using the old one.

CHRYSLER TECH Apr 16, 2011 10:48 AM

u did not remove the sensor b4 u took the engine out did ya? broke it. humm i think it was more then a crank sensor because a crank sensor does not know or distinguish between what cyl is firing it only relays what position the flywheel is at to the pcm and the pcm then intern tells the coils and injectors what to do.

Chrysler Tech, you would be correct. It ran for just a few seconds now the same problem.... HELP!!!!
