2002 sebring doesn`t charge battery

Hello!

Generator works normal, providing stable power when engine is on. But battery (9 months old) slowly discharges (starter runs slower and slower).

It looks like some relay is broken, which turns battery charge on. Could you please point what is it name?

Thanks,
Sergey

Battery charging is controlled by the engine computer. If the generator is working and providing a charge, it should maintain the battery charge. Check for corrosion on the battery cables, beginning right at the battery and as far as you can check. Another possible problem is a bad battery. If it's only 9 months old, take it back to be checked. It ought to be under warranty.

Yes, i`ve checked that voltage is 15 Voltes on battery contacts that means generator works fine, and replaced battery by warranty in PepShop Boys shop, where it has been bought originally.

The only problem is that the $55 labor to replace battery is not under warranty.

The failed battery is a Boshe battery.
