2002 Sebring "jars" slowing down below 25-27

Hi All,

In an earlier post, I commented on how my wife's 2002 Sebring would "pause" before going into gear from Park.

This particular problem doesn't seem to happen anymore, but I have a seperate issue on the same car.

Her car seems to run fine now, though when braking, once speed drops to 25mph (maybe 26/27, can't tell exactly), the car "jolts" a little bit as it passes down through that speed. It appears to down-shift, badly, with a little "jarring" to it. It doesn't do it at any other speeds, going up to 65+, and it only does it slowing down, once it gets to 25.

I took the car today to AutoZone on the recommendation of someone here, to see if it would throw a code when hooked to the computer. It didn't, and reported that it "passed" fine. I had an automatic transmission fluid change done on Saturday, thinking it might have been caused by an air bubble in the line, and maybe replacing the fluid (which it was due for anyway, at 97,000 miles), might fix that problem, but that didn't resolve the problem either.

Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this "jarring" when slowing down?

Thank-you,

-David

Might be the solenoid pack. They seem to cause problems in these cars. It's not a real difficult replacement if your mechanic knows what he's doing.
