Default 2000 Seabring Does not stay running when cold

I have a 2000 Chrysler seabring convertable. When I go to start the car when the engine is cold it will not stay running until after about 5 min. of holding down the gas. What could be wrong? When the engine is warm it starts and runs fine.

I have the 2.5L V6. I went to autozone to see if they can pull the codes, but I guess here in California it's illegal. Suprising.

Absolutely Not...... As a matter of fact, CARB (California Air Resources Board) used California as its Guinea-Pig for OBD2 as early as 1992.....

ANY host of issues can cause your symptoms, and Guesswork and Parts tossing will cost you considerably more than taking it in and having it looked at.

I wouldnt discourage anyone from doing their own work, but you at least need a place to start....

They banned parts stores from reading trouble codes for free in California. The garages were losing out on the diagnostic fees so they lobbied and got the legislature to ban the practice.

It's always nice to know the government is looking out for your best interests, as long as you're prepared to kick a little something their way.
