2004 Sebring sedan 2.4 DOHC head gasket change...Input pleasee
Ok, so I'm changing the head gasket on my girlfriends 2004 2.4 DOHC.
I already have the head off and had it resurfaced (It was in fact warped). Do you guys have any tips on reinstalling the head and reinstalling the timing belt. I have a full felpro gasket kit and new head bolts. Just want to make sure I'm not missing any little trick or hint that will make things easier before I throw the head back on. Also, anything specific I should check out on the head or block before I put them together? I'm by no means a professional and normally work on late 90's Hondas, so things are a little different/more of a pain to do on this freakin Chrysler ;) |
Also, since I can't seem to figure out how to edit my post, She did have her waterpump/timing belt changed probably 6 months ago. But I am going to replace the timing belt again.
Also (again), anything I should know about the 8-bolt valve cover VS the 9-bolt. Because she has the 9-bolt. Thanks! |
Better put a straight edge on that head. I can promise you it's warped. Is this for an overheating issue that takes about 30 minutes or longer to duplicate?

As I said in the original post, I already took the head in and had it checked/resurfaced. Reason for the gasket change is because of an oil leak. |
