2005 Sebring Convertible, replace or not to replace trasmission???

HI all,

Our 2005 Sebring Convertible has been very very good to me. It has 110,000 miles on it. Regular oil changes. Recently i have been going up mega hills for some open houses and noticed first that at a stop light or sign in idle it would surge. I have never taken advantage of using the autostick (husband didn't know how to use it so he said just don't use it). WIth that being said going up these hills i know it was reving high but husband said just get some momentum going up the hill and i should be fine.......well after one of my open houses on the way home the trans light went on and is continued in the same gear until i got home. Went to a trans shop the following codes come up P0700, P0218, P0714, P1790, P0720, P0731. He suggested rebuild, which husband does not want to do (he doesn't want to soak any money into it) Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your choice is whether to put the money into an 11 year old car or spend more and get something newer. Either way you're going to be spending some fairly big bucks. There's a purely economic view and there's also a question of how much you like the car. Ultimately, the decision is up to you and the right answer has to be right for you, not anybody here.
