2006 Chrysler Sebring Touring
 
...Round Plastic thing on top of motor i think called a: *Upper Air Intake* is making a Whining Sound........checked all the hoses no problems...no leaks......?........it only does this every so often but it is a problem that need's to be addressed. thanks.[:@] here is a picture of what is making the noise it circled n white......

Yes, that's the upperintake manifold, but if there are no vacuum leaks, it's not likely to be causing a "whining" sound. It doesn't have any moving parts that would make a sound like that. The camshafts are nearby, and they are driven by a timing chain that could make a sound like that. The water pump is down under the passenger side of that area and might make a sound like that. You might want to invest in a mechanic's stethoscope to try to pinpoint the sound. It could be a few bucks well spent.

yea i just had an upper coolent hose replaced at the dealership cause i guess they said it was leaking is it possible they did something? cause it didnt make this noise before... othrn than that the car is awesome.... ok i have a quick question wtf does this round black gizmo do? i nvr seen a car with this upper air intake thingy before....

upper intake is just half of the intake manifold delivers air into the engine. This engine has an upper and lower intake manifold.
