Battery is fine.

I realize it is hard to trouble shoot a car over the internet. I just wondered if anyone else had something like that happen. Trying to gain a little insight from the experience of others. :)

07 Sebring stalling and won't start.

My daughters 2007 Sebring was stalling on her off and on. Check engine light was coming on and going off. Now today, when trying to start car it will just turn over and thats it. Odd thing is, when trying to start it, you can let go of the key and it stays cranking until you manually turn the key back off. Has anyone had this before???

Did you ever figure this out? I know its been a while but my daughters car is doing the exact same thing.

Could be the timing belt. Does it sound like it has any compression whatsoever? Does it make a consistent whining noise when it tries to start? If it had any compression, it would sound like it's trying to start, but can't. If the timing belt is broken (assuming of course the 2.7L uses a timing belt as opposed to a chain), the engine would have no compression because the valves are open on one side.

The 2.7 L engine has a timing chain, not a timing belt.

Ah. In which case nevermind :P
