Default 97-98 Convert vs Coupe Engine Compatability

I have an issue. I have a 1997 Sebring Convertible that was diagnosed by a mechanic as having bent pistons (engine makes terrible thudding noise when turned on) and suggested to replace the engine. The convertible is 2.5 V-6 Convertible JX. I bought a 1998 Sebring Coupe LXI 2.5 V-6 to replace it. When reading the instruction manual, it states for the 97 Convertible raise the car off the engine to remove the engine. For the 98 Coupe it states raise the engine out of the car. When looking at the two engines, the mounts seem in different places. So my concern is whether this 98 coupe will fit into the 97 convert. Am I going to have to modify the engine mounts on the coupe or is this engine just not going to fit? YOur expertise will be helpful. Thank you
