2007 Sebring wont start
 

Hi, This is my first time using forums but I'm stumped. I am working on a 2007 Chrysler Sebring. The issue is that the car cranks but will not start. It is getting no spark at all. The OBD read P0016 so I replaced the crankshaft position sensor. This eliminated the code but now I am getting a code that is P0562 and P0700. Can anyone give me an idea of what could possibly be causing this problem. Thanks

The P0562 code indicates low system voltage. It's possible that all that cranking has run down the battery. It's also possible that the battery is six, going on seven years old and getting tired.
The P0700 code is a generic transmission code. It means that there is another code or codes stored in the computer regarding the transmission that your code reader doesn't seem to be able to get to.
Low voltage can cause weird things to happen. Try charging the battery or jumping from a known good source to get the battery up to voltage and see if that will straighten it out. Then get the battery load tested and relace it if necessary.
If the transmission code doesn't go away, get the car hooked up to a better code reader and find out what is going on in there.

can anyone tell me what would cause this car to keep cranking for a good 15 sec after you release the key but will not start. only options I have left are camshaft position sensor or timing chain. I checked again to see if i got spark and i am getting it now but it will not start. Also if timing jumped is there any way to check without diag test. OBD codes are clear other than the two mentioned above

possible faulty ignition switch.

as for you low system voltage, there are a few causes for this, your Battery my have a few dead cells..Alternator may not be charging efficiently...Check your ground and power wires and make sure they have a good connection....Most alternators have voltage regulators, this could be faulty as well
