Default 2008 Chrysler Sebring HVAC question

Hello everyone. Glad to be part of the Chrysler Forum.

I have a 2008 Chrysler Sebring sedan, 4 cylinder, with a manual HVAC problem. A few years ago, I would get intermittent performance with the blower on #4 position, position #'s 1 - 3 all seem to work okay. Approximately a year ago position # 4 does not work at all, but position #'s 1 - 3 still work. I replaced the blower motor resistor recently but that did not fix the issue.

What could be other causes for the blower motor to not function in position #4?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

@ dcotter:

Switch: @ console?
Wiring: between blower motor and blower motor resistor?

anything else?

Thanks,
Mike

The way the thing works is that the switch doesn't directly control the fan. The switch tells the computer what you have indicated as your preference and the computer, in turn, tells the fan what to do. You could have a defective switch (not sure about your model year but the '01-'06 design was problematical in that regard), or possibly something in the computer or the wiring connecting all of it.

Good Luck.
