2008 sebring ac growling noise after new compressor

We took the car to the dealer about 2,000 miles ago for a knocking noise in the ac compressor. They replaced the compressor (under warrenty), now just started the other day, we have a growling noise only when the ac is on (compressor engaged) happens at 1,500 to 2,000 rpm while driving, or in park, or neutral.
Like it is coming from behind the dash and under the right front of the car.
Turn off the ac and the noise goes away.
I have heard this might because of the swirl valve but it is pretty loud and want to know if this is normal ?
Ac cools fine.
2008 sebring 2.4l, auto 4 speed trans, with 28,000 miles on it.

Thanks
jt

THe A/C compressor is located at the right front of the car. In 40 years of dealing with cars I have never heard of a "swirl valve".
Try opening the hood and listening to the noise. You may be able to pinpoint the source that way. If it's the A/C compressor, you could try taking it back to the dealer who sold you the repair as it might be covered by a warranty, but that's not real likely.
At least have them look at it. Maybe it will turn out to be the result of a loose mounting or something that can be easily fixed. If not, your best bet might be to learn to live with it as long as the thing continues to work. When it breaks, fix it. In the meantime, turn up the radio.

"I have never heard of a "swirl valve" Yes the 2008 Sebirng has a swirl vaule on the 2.4l world class engine.

"Your best bet might be to learn to live with it as long as the thing continues to work" Na do not think so, esp since it is under warranty and when I had to have the radio up over 20 to 25 on the volume to mask the noise. Max volume is 33.

The whole cause of the noise was the Overrunning Alternator Decoupler Pulley.
Car made the noise on deceleration, Tech said usually when they do this it is the spring in the Oad pully (clutch pully).

All is fine now and the noise is gone. They change the alternator and did the Aug 2010 recall on the shifter interlock spring ( shift lever getting stuck in park issues with the newer sebrings).
