3.2 & 3.5 cylinder head differences

Hi all,
My friend has had some terrible luck with cylinder heads for his 99 Intrepid. His cylinder heads cracked when the engine overheated. He's been to the recycle yards twice only to get two more sets of cracked heads.
From what I can gather on the web, the only difference between 3.2 and 3.5 engines is the bore of the engines. I've looked up the casting numbers for the heads and they are the same so I'm thinking the 3.5 heads will work for his 3.2. The 3.2 heads are rare and the machinist at the local shop has told my friend that the 3.5 heads will not work.
I'm confused............Any help out there?

Go to chryslerparts.net and look up the part numbers for both heads. If its the same part number, you're golden. If not, you are taking your chances.
