96-01 jxi doorpanel upholstery
hello from germany,
my name is malik and i´m glad to join!
four years ago my ex girlfriend and i more or less rescued a ´96 jx (it´s called stratus over here)
and had quite some fun with this ship. as time passes and things change i now have to rescue
it again having sit for two years.
technically i´m about to fix the things neccessary for the german TÜV (road safety check - every two years)
and at least it should pass. but also the interior suffered badly!!
here´s my question: does anyone know if the doorpanel is one molded piece or can i take the cake leather inlay out like the "wood" trim?
it looks like it´s been pressed inside and clamped/glued but i am not sure. and given how rare all interior parts are over here i don´t want do destroy it.
But it reaaally needs real leather all around imho.
thanks to everyone reading this and giving it a thought or two.

If you want to apply real leather to the door trim panel, your best bet is to put it over the existing vinyl, rather than trying to remove the vinyl. You might want to contact these people for a start.

Hey thanks for your reply. I already wrapped some leather around the vinyl it just did not really look as I want it to. That's why I wondered if taking the panel apart would work.
Being from Germany katzkin unfortunately isn't really an option. Would be cheaper to just give it to a local store.
But it's the DIY that makes the fun for me in general👌. But I'll take another look at the website.
Great options there.
Thanks again
