98 Sebring key stuck in ignition

Good morning...I am hoping someone who may have had this problem can give me an insight on what is going on with my Sebring. I have a 98 Sebring and the key is stuck in the ignition. I can start the car and drive the car fine but when I go to turn the car off the key will not come out of the ignition. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help.

make sure the shifter is all the way in the park force it forward. Either the adjusment is out on the cable, or shifter damage or shift lock sol is bad haft to check

In the manual on my 2006 it specifically mentions this as some type of "feature" malfuntion and says the dealership will help you with it.

I am not certain but did you check to see if the recall for the shift interlock was done to your car? I think it may apply call the dealer and have the service dept run the vin to find out of any open recalls on your car. It may be the shifter is not fully in place to remove the key.

Ok I have a 2005 Chrysler Seabring and yesterday my key got stuck in the ignition. Now I can't get it out at all. Has it been confirmed that there has been a recall on something that would cause that problem? Any help would be appreciated...thanks so much!

your key stuck in the ign would not be a safety issue thus no recall would come of it.
