99 Sebring convertible part

Looking to see if what I believe is called the cowl panel/top is still available from Chrysler. This is the black panel that sits at the base of the windshield and runs the full width of the glass, and has the wiper arms coming up through it. If so, does anyone know the part number. I found a couple sites that show them, but not sure if it is for the hardtop or convertible. Thanks.

Try the parts counter at a dealership. You do not need the part number. Usually they only stock parts for vehicles going back 10 years BUT if the part was common with a model later than yours, there's a chance it might still be available. The basic vehicle structure for the convertible was pretty similar up through 2006. There's a chance.

If no luck there, keep your eye peeled for somebody parting out a car on eBay. He might advertise a door or something from a '99 convertible but if you ask him for that cowl piece, he'll be glad to sell that to you. I've had good luck with that method.

You do NOT want ANY part from a coupe. They were built by Mitsubishi and have probably no body parts in common with your convertible. Sedans are likewise almost entirely different even though built by Chrysler. I know for sure that the cowl is different on a sedan because I used to own both a sedan and a convertible. If a site advertises a Sebring part, be sure to ask whether it's for a coupe or convertible.
